Valérie Plante victim of illness

The mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, felt uneasy Tuesday morning in the middle of a press conference, while she was answering questions from journalists at city hall.

Mme Plante stopped speaking for about ten seconds, before sliding to the ground, saying that she didn’t feel well.

Her colleagues as well as security agents immediately intervened with her.

After approximately five minutes, the mayor left the premises walking, supported by members of her staff.

Valérie Plante had just answered questions from the media for 20 minutes, on subjects such as homeless encampments, REM outages, the OCPM and snow removal from cycle paths.

On the X network, 30 minutes after the incident, M staffme Plante wrote that “the mayor of Montreal suffered discomfort during a press conference and, fortunately, she is out of danger. She will receive all the required medical support and thanks you for your support. »

The leader of the opposition at city hall, Aref Salem, for his part, hoped that the mayor would recover well. “My thoughts are with the mayor following the discomfort she suffered this morning during her press conference. I hope you get back into shape soon, @Val_Plante. Speedy recovery,” he wrote.
