Mayor Valérie Plante suffered a collapse Tuesday morning while holding a press conference at city hall Tuesday morning and collapsed to the ground.
The mayor had been answering current affairs questions from journalists for around twenty minutes when she showed signs of fatigue and stopped speaking, the media present reported. She then dropped to the ground. She got up a few minutes later and left the scene, helped by staff members.
“The mayor felt unwell and fortunately, she is out of danger. She will receive all the required medical support and thanks the population for their support,” indicated Marikym Gaudreault, press officer in Valérie Plante’s office.
