Valérie Pécresse was traveling to Strike to talk about the migration theme. What is the position of the Republican candidate in the run-up to the first round of the presidential election?

Less than three months before the first round of the presidential election, Valérie Pécresse is targeted from all sides: by her left, the macronists, and by her right, with the critics of Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour. “She has feverishness as an engine and hypocrisy as fuel”, declared for example Gabriel Attal, spokesperson for the government. But how can the candidate of the Les Républicains party loosen the noose that threatens her presence in the second round? Should we first seduce voters disappointed by Emmanuel Macron or speak above all to his right?

Behind the scenes, two camps clash. “Valérie will win if she is Chirac and will lose if she is Fillon”, reports a senior executive of the Les Républicains party. Conversely, a heavyweight from the LR party believes “that we must do security and regal every week”. Valérie Pécresse seems to have decided and it will be heading to the right.
