Valérie Lemercier plays her version of Celine Dion in “Aline”

“Aline” is a fiction freely inspired by the life of Celine Dion. To get as close as possible to reality, Valérie Lemercier has surrounded herself with Quebec actors.

Indeed, only 2 French are showing: Valérie Lemercier who plays the singer and Jean-Noël Brouté who plays Aline’s makeup artist. These were coached by Quebecers to have a realistic accent.

For all the sung parts, it’s Victoria Sio who was in charge of it. Two singing teachers, a Quebecker and an American, also urge her to get as close as possible to Celine Dion’s accent for songs performed in English. It took no less than 3 months of studios to achieve this stunning result.

The film chronicles more than 80 years of the life of the God family. At the end of the 60s in Quebec, Sylvette and Anglomard welcome their 14th child: Aline. In the Dieu family, music reigns supreme and when Aline grows up we discover a gift to her, she has a golden voice.

When he hears this voice, music producer Guy-Claude has only one idea in mind… to make Aline the greatest singer in the world. Supported by her family and guided by the experience and then the budding love of Guy-Claude, they will together write the pages of an extraordinary destiny.
