Valérie Bacot tells about her ordeal

A woman who has been convicted of the murder of her husband. Beaten, raped and prostituted for years, Valérie Bacot ended up killing her torturer and testified in the 19/20 of France 3. She was about 13 years old when she met her executioner, her stepfather before becoming her husband. From then on, touching and then rape began. At 17, she finds herself pregnant with him, and has no other choice but to settle down with him.

Behind the walls of their house, the violence does not stop. “He could take anything and throw it in my face, punch me, whatever”, she testifies, tears in her voice. On March 13, 2016, she ends up taking action and kills her husband. In June 2021, the Assize Court sentences her to a symbolic sentence.
