The general manager of the Foreurs, Pascal Daoust, was sacked by the formation of Val-d’Or, Wednesday evening, because of the club’s performance.
“Following the analysis of our performance in recent years, we have determined that it would be in the best interests of the organization to take a new direction in terms of the management of our hockey operations and to relieve Pascal Daoust of his duties,” club president Dany Marchand said in a statement.
The Foreurs currently occupy the 15e rank in the general standings of the QMJHL, which has 18 teams.
“The Foreurs enjoy a rich tradition within the QMJHL and we understand that for the past few seasons, our performances have not lived up to our expectations and those of our precious supporters,” he added.
Daoust had been in office since 2016. His replacement will be announced “soon” according to Marchand.
