A fire broke out on Sunday in a residence in Val-des-Monts, in the Outaouais, causing a total loss of housing.
The Val-des-Monts firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze on the Carrefour road after a neighbor called who had noticed thick smoke.
No deaths or injuries were reported when no one was on the scene at the time of the fire, said Josée Forest, spokesperson for the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police department.
“We can already conclude at a total loss of the residence valued at $ 80,000 on the assessment roll of the MRC des Collines,” she said.
The cause was still under investigation in the afternoon by the municipal fire safety service.
Traffic was affected in the area due to smoke and the presence of fire trucks.
