Words too strong to expect? The stress of being only a few centimeters from the Head of State? Or just a mix of everything plus fatigue. In any case, there was indeed vagal discomfort this Friday January 19, 2024 in Cherbourg, when Emmanuel Macron
sent his wishes to the armies. Indeed, the Head of State went to the town located in Manche to visit the Mechanical Constructions of Normandy as well as meet the young people of the department who have completed or are starting their universal national service (SNU).
A busy day which ended with the long-awaited wishes to the armies who have had to face, and will continue to face, numerous difficulties in recent months between their hasty departure from the Sahel, the war in Ukraine, the economy of war, the Middle East, or even the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.

Emmanuel Macron interrupted by discomfort during his speech
It is precisely during these wishes that the people who attended the speech ofEmmanuel Macron were overcome by a certain panic when a young woman, located just behind the Head of State, fainted. While he was speaking, Brigitte Macron’s companion turned around and stopped his speech: “I think we need to help…I’m going to interrupt myself so there can be an intervention”he told his audience.
While the young woman was being evacuated, Emmanuel Macron immediately wanted to be reassured and diagnose: “I assure you, it’s vagal discomfort”. A few seconds later, he was able to resume his speech as if nothing had happened, continuing his wishes and recalling the challenges ahead for the French army.
