Dramatic drama at the National Assembly on the night of Monday, January 3. An opposition maneuver led to the suspension of the examination of the text concerning the implementation of the vaccination pass. Opposition critics are raining down on the government.

In the hemicycle, the Prime Minister speaks and does not hide his anger. Jean Castex castigates the opposition deputies who according to him blocked the debates on the vaccine pass on Monday, January 3. “The virus is galloping and you pull the handbrake”, he proclaimed. Indeed, the day before, the opposition took advantage of a time when the majority was sparse to vote a suspension of the session at midnight. For Valérie Pécresse, the fault lies with the government which does not manage to hold its majority.

Despite the quack and the electric atmosphere in the National Assembly, the majority wants to be reassuring about the adoption of the vaccine pass. Christophe Castaner, president of the LREM group, ensures: “Our goal is for this text to come to fruition as quickly as possible because in the health situation we are experiencing, the time is not for political blows, it is time for action”. The debates resumed Tuesday evening January 4 and should endfinish at 3 a.m.
