A few days after participating in the Ottawa demonstration, the leader of the People’s Party of Canada (PPC), Maxime Bernier, continued to defend his positions regarding the management of the health crisis, in an interview on the program The balance sheetFriday.

Although he does not intend to return to demonstrate in the federal capital on Saturday, the politician reiterates his request to end the sanitary measures.
“There is no longer a state of emergency. It’s time to put an end to this, ”claims the head of the PPC.
“We must stop living in fear and we must learn to live with the virus,” he adds.
The latter insists that he is not anti-vaccine, but rather pro-choice.
“We are pushing vaccination among people aged 60 and under who have little risk of catching a serious form of COVID (…) We must respect people’s free choice,” says Mr. Bernier.
The politician also multiplies his criticisms of the governments of Canada and Quebec.
“Since 2018, it has been said that the provinces should be given more autonomy to manage their health system (…) Mr. Legault had two years to reinvest and change his health system. He did nothing and for that, he violates the rights and freedoms of all citizens, “says the head of the PPC.
