(Salt Lake City) The Utah Hockey League signed forward Dylan Guenther to an eight-year, $57.14 million contract extension on Friday.
Guenther will earn an average of $7.14 million per season through 2032-33.
“Dylan is an elite player in every aspect, both on and off the ice,” said general manager Bill Armstrong.
“He is a very talented young forward with a shot that is on track to become one of the best in the NHL. He is also a first-class person who is determined to be great. We look forward to having Dylan as a key player in this organization for years to come.”
The 21-year-old shuttled between the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League last season.
With the Arizona Coyotes, he collected 35 points, including 18 goals, in 45 games.
“There is no better example than Dylan when it comes to the combination of talent and character with which we are very excited to build a new organization here in Utah,” said Chris Armstrong, the team’s president of hockey operations.
Today is an exciting day for our organization and our fans who will come to love Dylan, not just as a hockey player, but as a member of our community.

“This is a very happy day for me and my family,” Guenther said. “Everything is on track with this organization and I know we have the opportunity to do special things in the years to come.”
“Utah is where I want to be, and I’m proud to make a long-term commitment to my teammates and the organization.”
