USAP wants to fight to keep Tristan Tedder

Tristan Tedder is out of contract with USAP. The South African opener who arrived last season gives more than satisfaction and was one of the great architects of the maintenance last season: 23 starts in 27 games, 130 points scored and an undeniable weight on the Catalan game.

After stints in Toulouse, Bayonne and Béziers, Tristan Tedder managed to settle down and assert himself at USAP. Of course, his performances do not go unnoticed and of course the biggest clubs want to use him. Tristan Tedder will therefore have to make a choice. According to the Midi-Olympique newspaper, several clubs are already interested in the Usapist player and in particular Castres (Toulon and the French Stadium are also in the running).

On France Bleu Roussillon, coach Patrick Arlettaz spoke about the situation of his opener:We have already seen Tristan several times and of course we want to keep him and we are ready to make an effort on him. Has he already signed for Castres? We talked about it this morning (Editor’s note: Monday morning), obviously I was teaching him. He’s in demand, that’s normal because he’s good, he’s 10 and he’s jiff. Is he also much more in demand than before his arrival at USAP? Yes, also and largely.”

“We are ready to make financial efforts to keep it”

“We strongly hope to keep him. In the discussion I had with him, I did not feel he was determined to leave. Afterwards, he is a young player who has demands and he will have to weigh everything, he knows what he has here, in a club where he feels good. He is in a team that has made him progress a lot and put him in sight. We are going to make financial efforts on him, yes, because “he deserves it and not because it’s competition with other clubs. He’s a very important player for us.”

But the USAP finds itself again and again confronted with its situation. How to convince Tristan Tedder to stay when the maintenance is very far from being acquired and that there will be for several months this uncertainty of the division of the next season? : “There are choices to be made when you are a young player like him. Finally, he has only been playing in continuity for a year and a few months in the Top 14.

“Is he ready enough to go elsewhere? Is he ready to take the risk of possibly being a substitute in a team that plays in the Top 6? Or does he want to remain a starter and leader in a team that also plays in the Top 14? There are plenty of arguments to take into account, there is of course also the financial argument, but we are ready to greatly increase our salary. There is everything to take into account and we will respect his choice but we have arguments to keep this player.”

Tristan Tedder will have to make a choice, he has time for reflection, the Catalan club hopes for an answer at the end of this block. Catalan supporters hope not to lose another star player after revealing himself to USAP.
