The US Orléans football club (USO), which plays in National, the third professional division, is downgraded to National 2 by the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control) as a precautionary measure, reports France Bleu Orléans Wednesday January 10 . The club will finish the season in the National no matter what, before a possible administrative demotion, and is prohibited from recruiting. The USO must also regulate its payroll.
The financial policeman of French football has just made this decision after asking the club, in December, to provide new financial guarantees to ensure its sustainability. France Bleu Orléans writes that these guarantees involve the partial or total sale of the club by its current president, Philippe Boutron, a process which is on the verge of success, the USO whispers to France Bleu Orléans.
The DNCG’s decision does not call into question the immediate activity of the club, currently 9th (out of 18) in the National championship, which is due to host Paris Saint-Germain on January 20 in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France.
