Bernard Casoni, the US Orléans coach suspended from his duties because he was accused of having made racist comments, announces that he has asked his lawyer to file a complaint for slanderous denunciation with the Orléans public prosecutor, reports France Bleu Orléans Wednesday October 11. This is a complaint filed against X, his lawyer, Didier Lacombe, told France Bleu, confirming information from the newspaper The Team.

Five players from the US Orléans football club, starters and substitutes, reported racist comments made by Bernard Casoni within the club. According to information from France Bleu Orléans, several members of the USO organization chart confirm these comments. Contacted by France Bleu, the coach initially refuted any accusation of racism.

“Players invented certain remarks”, according to Bernard Casoni

Bernard Casoni’s lawyer clarified this Wednesday to France Bleu: “We are not accusing anyone, we hope to know who spoke”. For his part, Bernard Casoni explained that he wanted “wash [mon] honor”arguing that there was “players who invented certain remarks”. Bernard Casoni, however, recognized clumsy remarks “which are no longer suitable nowadays”.

The Orléans public prosecutor’s office has opened a preliminary investigation after accusations of racism surrounding Bernard Casoni, France Bleu Orléans learned on Tuesday. The public prosecutor, Emmanuelle Bochenek-Puren, indicates that she has opened an investigation for provocation of hatred or racial discrimination and for public insults of a racist nature. The disciplinary committee of the French Football Federation was also contacted.
