Traffic has been difficult since the start of the week in this very busy area, which provides access to the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.

It was a hole in the road that sounded the alarm Monday noon.

“It was a surface hole, but we realized that there was erosion below the surface, due to the bad connection of the sewers of a residential building with the municipal network”, explains the door -spokesperson for the City of Montreal, Philippe Sabourin.

City workers had to dig 12 feet into the ground to repair the leak, which complicated operations.
