UQAM | Agreement in principle ratified for 1,000 union members

UQAM support employees endorsed by 97% the agreement in principle that was reached with management regarding the renewal of their collective agreement, reports CUPE.


The union of employees of the University of Quebec in Montreal is attached to the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), affiliated with the FTQ. It has nearly 1,000 members, including professionals, office and trade and technical employees.

Exceptionally, the collective agreement will have a duration of eight years, from 1er June 2023 to May 31, 2031.

An increase has already been granted on 1er April 2023. Subsequent increases will be 2.8% on April 1er April 2024, by 2.6% on the 1ster April 2025, by 2.5% on the 1ster April 2026 and 3.5% on April 1er April 2027. For the years 2028 and following years, an increase of 2.25% is planned or the increase provided for in the government’s salary policy, if it is more generous, reports CUPE.
