Upset and on the verge of tears when talking about singer Christophe

In a few days, Nolwenn Leroy will make his reunion with the star Academy on TF1, Saturday October 30 but before that, she was in Media Culture on Europe 1. On November 12, she will unveil her new record concocted with Benjamin Biolay. In this opus, the singer paid tribute to a man she particularly loved. This is Christophe. The artist died, swept away at the age of 74 by a lung disease in April 2020 in Brest, Nolwenn’s hometown.

“It is a tribute to Brest, and to Christophe who left us in Brest precisely, this city where I was born and of which we spoke when we saw each other”, she said about the title The mare in which, she evokes the late blue-eyed star. “From time to time we would go to dinner and we would talk a lot about Auvergne. I also grew up in Auvergne and it has a lot of memories there. In the end, it became the title of the album”, she added with emotion. “Christophe, he was someone special (…) He is very much missed.”

In June 2013, in the show Chabada of France 2, hosted by Daniela Lumbroso, they both performed the title, Les Mots Bleus. “With the singer Christophe, we were quite simply friends. We were going to have dinner together. We often spoke of Auvergne, because it had roots there. When he left us, I wanted to write this text, La cavale, to pay him homage“, revealed the companion of Arnaud Clément in the show Boomerang on France Inter, Wednesday September 8.

A very personal album

In just over two weeks, fans of the Star Academy 2 winner will discover La Cavale. A record that the star composed with Benjamin Biolay. As she told Pure Charts, she “‘had left to (confide) completely in Benjamin”. There are certain themes, topics and songs that wouldn’t have existed if I had written them myself. Sometimes some people are better at expressing things that you cannot express on their own. They find certain words that you wouldn’t say yourself (…) This album will be very balanced both musically and in the themes (…) Honestly, I’m really impatient to sing these songs on stage, it will rock! “.

Patience…
