Upper body injury | One to two weeks of absence for Connor McDavid

(Edmonton) Connor McDavid is expected to miss one to two weeks of activities due to an upper body injury, the Edmonton Oilers announced Sunday.

McDavid, who had two goals and eight points in five games this season, was injured in a 3-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. He missed the final minutes of the third period and did not play in overtime.

McDavid won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player after scoring a career-high 153 points last season.

The Oilers, who are 1-3-1 so far, will face the Minnesota Wild in Saint Paul on Tuesday, then the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames in Edmonton on Thursday and Sunday.
