Unexpected Morning for Carla and Souleymane

In the shared apartment at the marshes, Carla and Souleymane awaken in the same bed, realizing they had a wild night after drinking too much. While Souleymane believes Bérénice will be understanding about their night together, Carla wishes to pretend it never happened.

Just then, Bérénice knocks on the door. Carla opens it while Souleymane hides away. Carla confronts Bérénice, accusing her of ending their relationship via text. Bérénice clarifies that she merely needs some space but is not looking to break up, assuring Carla that she loves her deeply. Despite Bérénice’s heartfelt explanations, Carla dismisses them as too convenient and shuts the door on her, masking her own emotional turmoil.

Meanwhile, Rose heads over to Angèle’s farm to propose a truce, emphasizing the importance of Carla’s well-being. However, Angèle remains firm, believing her niece is at risk by being close to the one who caused Raphaël’s death. Coline watches the exchange and tries to persuade her mother to ease up on Rose, but to no avail.

Later, the Second Years arrive at Angèle’s farm for their first cooking test, where they have one hour to gather ingredients for their chosen recipes. They are paired off: Bérénice with Souleymane and Carla with Malik. While Bérénice and Souleymane collaborate effortlessly on their comforting recipe, Carla becomes increasingly paranoid that her girlfriend will discover her infidelity, leaving her distracted in the kitchen. Malik suggests making a tagine and sends her off to collect lemons and coriander.

As the students move to the kitchen with their gathered ingredients, Leroy oversees their progress. Malik notices Carla’s lack of coriander and that she has skipped an essential step in the recipe. Frustrated by her lack of seriousness, he expresses his anger as tension mounts. In a moment of frustration, Carla throws her apron down and storms out, leaving Malik to finish their dish alone.

Finding solitude in the Economat, Carla unexpectedly encounters Rose. She confides in her mother about the previous night, admitting her guilt for hurting those she loves. Without judgment, Rose embraces her daughter, encouraging her not to be so harsh on herself.

As the day wraps up, the Second Years gather in the amphitheater for Olivia to announce the results of their first test. Souleymane and Bérénice score a respectable 15/20, while Carla and Malik receive a disappointing 7/20. Olivia reassures them that they have a chance to redeem themselves in the upcoming second test scheduled for Friday.

When Carla apologizes to Malik, he responds that mere apologies won’t mend the situation. He expresses his desire to keep his personal life from affecting his grades and reveals that he knows about her night with Souleymane, adding that he’s not the only one who is aware.

Mehdi Takes on a New Challenge

In the locker room, Mehdi announces his intention to apply to assist Teyssier in crafting his traditional Christmas log. When Quentin mentions he will yield the opportunity to Mehdi, Tom praises him, suggesting he deserves the Golden Spatula for being the most fair-play student. Tom even proposes an awards ceremony to honor students who have excelled throughout the year.

Uninterested in accolades, Mehdi decides to focus solely on his application and approaches Teyssier in the kitchen. Unfortunately, Teyssier informs him that he has already selected Bérénice as his assistant for the year and implies that Mehdi wouldn’t be considered anyway due to his sour demeanor.

Later, feeling quite grumpy, Mehdi is challenged by Quentin and Tom to say “yes” to everything offered to him for an entire week. Surprisingly, Mehdi agrees to this quirky challenge.

Zoé Struggles with Friendship and Feelings

At the Christmas stand, Hortense leaves Zoé and Gary to complete their setup together. When a customer admires one of the cakes and compliments their chemistry, both Zoé and Gary become visibly uncomfortable.

Gary, sensing the awkwardness, suggests that Thelma take his place at the stand. She declines due to her exam workload, while Solal steps in to support Zoé instead.
