In total, the two measures would require annual expenditures of nearly $1.1 billion per year.

The party’s objective is to “double” the supply of home care. The party deplores that currently, “more than 45,000 people are on a waiting list to receive home care” and that this list is growing “since François Legault came to power”. Québec solidaire deplores that “too many people have to dip into their savings to get home care”.

The left-wing party also promises to create the “first program of allowances for family caregivers which will be added to the only current tax credit”. Financial compensation may reach $15,000. “These are direct allowances to caregivers, modulated according to the needs of the person being cared for”, indicates the party.
