up to 150 mm of water expected in the Rhone Valley

It’s a very rainy Friday for Drôme and Ardèche. According to Météo France readings at 4 a.m. this Friday and since the start of the episode, 116 liters of water per m2 had already fallen in La Souche and 107 in Barnas. The accumulation until Friday evening could reach 250 millimeters in places. But this is not the only area affected. As expected, the rain-storm axis shifted this Friday morning with heavy showers in the south of the Rhône valley. Up to 50 mm recorded in Saint-Marcel-d’Ardèche.

150 liters of water per m2 in the plain

These rains of varying intensity continued all day to the plain of Valence and to the country of Romans. With accumulations that can reach 150 mm including in the Rhone Valley. Météo France warns of the risks of overflowing rivers and occasionally flooded roads in urban areas. In southern Ardèche, Ardèche, Baume and Chassezac are on orange alert for floods.

An improvement is expected next night.
