While 206,243 new cases of Covid-19 were detected Thursday, December 30 in France, it is in the major cities of the country that we find the most positive people, according to figures from Public Health France. In Lille, Marseille, Lyon, Nice, Strasbourg, Grenoble, Toulouse or even Bordeaux and Montpellier, but also in the departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie.

None of these areas exceeds Ile-de-France, which has an incidence rate of over 1,300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with a peak around 2,000 for Paris. As for the age groups, the 20-40 year olds are currently the most affected by the virus. The incidence rate reaches, for example, 1,770 cases per 100,000 inhabitants among 20-29 year olds. The older the age, the less the contamination.

Data on the vaccination status of positive people finally show that the unvaccinated are three times more contaminated than the vaccinated. However, this figure may be biased by the fact that some vaccinees do not get tested, thinking they are protected by the vaccine.
