On April 3, 2023, the press revealed that a woman and a man died on Sunday April 2 in the Meuse while trying to recover their dog who had jumped into a stream during a walk. Having escaped the supervision of its masters, the animal jumped into a small stream in the town of Sorcy-Saint-Martin, around 5:30 p.m., according to a witness who attended the scene.
Carried away by the current, the animal was then rescued by its master, followed by its companion, but both found themselves stuck in a concrete pipe passing under the road. Not seeing the couple rise to the surface, the witness then alerted the firefighters who unfortunately failed to revive the two 25-year-olds who drowned.
In the aftermath of this tragedy, the host Cauet finds himself at the heart of a lively controversy for having commented on the affair with little empathy during a chronicle on the radio. On social networks, the mayors of the cities of Sorcy Saint Martin and Ménil la Horgn have indeed taken the floor to express their annoyance.

Not to help the situation, most Internet users have sided with these angry mayors by denouncing the lack of intelligence of the radio programs hosted by Sébastien Cauet.
