Liberal medicine launched an indefinite strike from Friday October 13. His discomfort relates to several demands.
Friday October 13, Doctor Aakiantz goes on strike for the first time in his life. Among the demands, the price of consultations, considered too low. The price of 25 euros plus the 1.5 euros recently granted by the government seems too fair to him. “It’s a shame, how do you want to motivate young doctors by telling them that the consultation costs 26 euros, after ten years of study?“ he protests.
Rural areas in difficulty
In rural areas, doctors are also on strike. But Dr. Contiero maintains home visits, even though he says he is overwhelmed. “The problem is that few of us travel because home visits are very poorly paid: it’s 35 euros if we come, while in the office it’s 25 euros for 15 minutes.”, explains the doctor. The strike could last several days. Patients are invited to call 15 in case of emergency.
