United States | Unemployment rate drops to 3.5% in December, 223,000 jobs created

(Washington) The unemployment rate fell in December in the United States, returning to its level of February 2019, just before the pandemic, while job creations, although slowing compared to November, exceeded expectations.


In the last month of 2022, the jobless rate fell to 3.5% from 3.6% the previous month, the Labor Department said Friday. Moreover, 223,000 jobs were created, ie less than the 256,000 in November, but more than the 210,000 that were expected.
