“I’m happy with my level of concentration,” said the 21-year-old Polish girl who was playing for the first time in her career in the huge Arthur-Ashe court arena.
“I tried to keep the same motivation as when I play on the other courts. But it’s a dream to be there, on the court and not in the stands from where I watched Serena play [Williams] and Karolina Pliskova when I was playing the tournament as juniors,” she added.
Titled at Roland-Garros this year for the second time after 2020, Swiatek has never exceeded 8are finals in New York. She will face at 3e another American, Lauren Davis (105e).
Semi-finalist at the Australian Open last January, Swiatek then lost in the second round in Dubai. But from the next tournament, in Doha, she went 37 games unbeaten, winning the titles in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome and Roland-Garros, until her fall in the third round at Wimbledon.
