They beat Japan’s Ena Shibahara, Alison Riske and America’s Asia Muhammad 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (8) at the US Grand Slam leg.
Dabrowski and Olmos are the fifth seeders.
They will play third-seeded Czechs Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova on Tuesday.
In mixed doubles, Dabrowski and Australian Max Purcell will face Lavallois Leylah Fernandez and American Jack Sock in the second round later on Sunday.
Garcia qualified
Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, 17e World Cup, also qualified for her first quarter-final on Sunday by beating American Alison Riske (29e) 6-4, 6-1 in 1:22.
At 28, the French No. 1, who had never passed the third round of the New York Major, thus equals her best result in a Grand Slam tournament, having already played the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros in 2017.
She will try to do even better on Tuesday against the American Coco Gauff (12e), finalist at the last Roland-Garros, or the Chinese Shuai Zhang (36e).
“I’m so excited to be in the quarterfinals, I’ve built up a lot of confidence since Cincinnati,” Garcia said of her WTA 1000 title just before the start of the US Open.
Against Riske, who had beaten her in their three previous meetings, Garcia took a round to break free, before more clearly dominating in the second round.
“Alison is a very tough player, a fighter, she moves a lot. I had to be very aggressive. The first set was tight, it was not great tennis, I had to manage my emotions. The second run was very good”, analyzed Garcia.
Among the ladies, one of the quarter-finals will oppose the Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia to one of the three Americans still in the running, Coco Gauff.
