Nearly 100,000 homes are still without power in Massachusetts in the United States due to a snowstorm. The mayor of Boston evokes a “historic storm”. Journalist Loïc de la Mornais takes stock of the situation.
Boston downtown (United States) was paralyzed by snow on the night of Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 January. “It’s – 15 degrees and – 25 degrees felt because there are always gusts of wind. But the snow has stopped falling. The worst seems to be over and indeed, nearly 100,000 Americans remain without electricity”, explains journalist Loïc de la Mornais live from Boston (United States).
A woman was found dead in her car “but for the moment the damage seems limited because the Americans have undoubtedly listened to all the preventive measures. There is hardly anyone on the streets, only a few snowplows are beginning to clear the avenues of Boston. Now we will have to measure this snow and check if these falls, which have reached more than half a meter in places, have represented the historic falls, a record for the States of North America, several of which are still under state of ‘alert”, concludes the journalist.
