United States | Artists unite to support access to abortion

Around ten artists, including Faye Webster, David Byrne and the group The War on Drugs, will combine their talents on a new album to support access to abortion in the United States.

Spearheaded by the non-profit organization Noise For Now, this album project aims to raise funds to help “independent clinics continue to navigate the changing legal landscape and provide care to their patients with dignity and respect,” indicates the organization on its Instagram account.

Appointed Noise for Now: Vol. 2, the 11-piece album will also feature tracks from Courtney Barnett, Devo, Big Freedia and Julia Jacklin. It will be launched on June 21, the date which will mark the second anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s revocation of Roe v. Wade, who had guaranteed American women’s right to abortion for 50 years.

Last November, the organization Noise For Now launched a first compilation on which Tegan and Sara and Fleet Foxes appeared in particular.
