14 tornadoes touched down in Kansas in the past 24 hours on Saturday April 30. One of them devastated part of the town ofAndover. The wind column blew up to 400 km/h.
It only took a few minutes for the tornado to appear on a road in Kansas. An impressive whirlwind of strong winds of up to 400km/h fell directly from a huge gray cloud. The column of air is immense and measures several hundred meters. The tornado destroyed everything in its path. Houses were blown up in seconds. The winds move quickly, destroying everything in its path.
He is 8:10 p.m. when the inhabitants of the city ofAndover receive the first alert. Fifteen minutes later, the tornado was already hitting the city. Some barely had time to take shelter. “I saw the cone start to form and I told my wife ‘I think there’s going to be a tornado’, it went very quickly. We immediately grabbed our dogs and went to the basement. Barely thirty seconds later, the alarm sounded”relates Kendrick Clay, a resident ofAndover. The damage is numerous, cars thrown into the air, crashed into buildings. No deaths are to be deplored.
