Unionized workers at Ford Motor Canada ratify tentative agreement

Ford Motor union members in Canada have ratified a new three-year employment contract, announced the union that represents them.

Unifor National President Lana Payne released a statement Sunday saying the new collective agreement will deliver substantial gains for workers.

According to Ms. Payne, this agreement will also lay the foundations for negotiations at General Motors and Stellantis.

Unifor and Ford reached a preliminary contract agreement Tuesday evening, after extending a strike deadline by 24 hours.

The three-year tentative agreement covers more than 5,600 workers at Ford’s Canadian plants.
