Inaugurated on October 16 at the Grévin museum in Paris, the statue of The Rock, the star of the franchise Fast and Furious, is not to the taste of the American-Canadian actor with concrete biceps. Dwayne Johnson, his real name, will contact the Parisian museum to request alterations, he said on Monday October 23. What upsets him? Skin color. The wax statue is indeed much lighter than him. “Looks like The Rock never saw the light of day“, laments American comedian James André Jefferson Jr in a video on Instagram, quoted by The Rock. “You made him look like David Beckham“, he adds. Internet users are amused by the pause, arms crossed, of the statue which closely resembles that of Mr Propre.
In a press release published on October 11, a few days before the inauguration of The Rock’s wax double, the Grévin museum indicated that six months of work had been necessary to create “the perfect copy” of the actor and that the sculptor Stéphane Barret, author of more than a hundred statues in the Grévin museum, was inspired by numerous photos.
The actor explained on Instagram on Monday that he had asked his teams to get in touch with “our friends from the Grévin museum“to retouch his character and bring”improvements“, “starting with my skin color“. Little resentful, The Rock concludes his post with humor: “Next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop there for a drink with myself.”
