The mayor of Montreal is “doing well” the day after feeling unwell during a press conference, the number 2 in her administration assured on Wednesday.
Valérie Plante had already indicated that she had been seen by a doctor and that she was doing better on Tuesday afternoon.
“I reassure you: she is fine,” reiterated Luc Rabouin on Wednesday morning, who spoke to her on Tuesday evening. “As a preventive measure, it will reduce the pace of its activities over the coming days and will resume thereafter. »
“Obviously, we will remain in close contact” with her, continued Mr. Rabouin. “Valérie, we send you all our support and know that you can count on your team. »
While answering a journalist’s question in English on Tuesday, Mme Plante stopped speaking for about ten seconds, before sliding to the ground and saying that she didn’t feel well.
Her colleagues as well as security agents immediately intervened with her, while she was on the ground.
After approximately five minutes, the mayor left the premises walking, supported by members of her staff.
Valérie Plante had just answered questions from the media for 20 minutes, on subjects such as homeless encampments, REM outages, the OCPM and snow removal from cycle paths.
