Michelle Hunziker Relishes Her Single Life
Are you currently feeling the happiest you’ve ever been?
Absolutely! At night, I lie in bed and think, ‘What a serene moment!’ Once my kids are tucked in, I indulge in a hot bath—it’s my own little sanctuary. It’s such a delightful feeling, and I’ve realized that being single can have its perks!
So, you’re enjoying the single life?
Completely! The thought of having someone around right now? No way! (laughs) But who knows? If the right man comes along and sweeps me off my feet, that could change.
You must have no shortage of admirers…
You’re right! There are definitely some who make their moves. However, it can be a bit tricky for me. Some men seem a little intimidated, considering I’m a grandma! (laughs) They probably think: ‘Oh, a grandma is a different ball game…’
You’re likely the ‘Sexiest Grandma Alive’
There are so many fabulous grandmas out there! Many women become grandmothers at just 40, which is quite young.
Adventures and Fond Memories
Do you have any bucket list experiences still waiting for you?
Oh, absolutely! Japan is at the top of my list; I adore it there. My dream is to visit during springtime when the cherry blossoms bloom. Recently, I’ve started traveling every year with Sole and Celeste. I did it with Aurora too, but now it’s the little ones’ turn. We embark on adventures together, just the three of us without a nanny—what a luxury!
Where did your most recent trip take you?
We just returned from Finland, where we witnessed the Northern Lights. It was so stunning that we were all moved to tears. It’s a rare sight, but we were fortunate enough to catch them on our very first night at 10 PM—it was absolutely breathtaking.
Are Sole and Celeste starting to show interest in your wardrobe or beauty products?
Oh, definitely! I own a brand in Italy called Goovi, which offers supplements, skincare, and makeup. Both of them are always raiding my makeup and creams. Sole, at 11 years old, already wears a size 40 shoe and fits into all my dresses! I had a similar experience with Aurora, but I was just 19 years older than her. Now, I think: Seriously? There’s a 36-year age gap, and yet you keep borrowing my things! (laughs)
Are Sole and Celeste considering a career on stage?
Sole is more introverted, so I doubt she’ll pursue anything in show business. Celeste, on the other hand, loves to sing and dance, but at just nine years old, it’s too early to predict her future. Whatever they choose to do, I’ll always be their biggest supporter.
A Joyful Household Filled with Laughter
Having grown up with only girls, how is it different now with your grandson Cesare?
I was overjoyed to learn he was a boy! I was present for his birth, and it was a magical moment. Boys tend to be more physically affectionate. When he sees me, his eyes light up, and he shouts, ‘Nonna!’ (German: Grandmother)—it’s heartwarming! He’s a real cuddle bug. With girls, the connection is more symbiotic; they’re less physically affectionate.
Does Aurora ever ask you to babysit?
Of course! I love being a babysitter. My home is perfectly set up for kids, and Aurora knows she can always count on me. Cesare is always welcome here. With dogs, children, and nannies around, it’s always lively at my place, with music playing all day long. When Cesare approaches my house, he excitedly calls out, ‘Nonna, Nonna!’ because he knows he can enjoy all the fun activities here that he can’t do at home. I truly am his Nonna! (laughs)
