The French are asked to sort their bio-waste, which will now have to have their own bin everywhere in France. Explanations.
It will now be necessary to sort your bio-waste. Today they represent a third of the waste incinerated or buried, or 83 kg per year and per inhabitant. This waste could, however, produce biogas, or, as in Lorient (Morbihan), make compost.that the farmers come to look for“, as explained by Odile Robert, the city’s waste prevention and recovery director.
Municipalities had taken a lead
All French people are affected by sorting. Around a hundred towns had taken a lead, like in Lyon (Rhône), where Marie-Lou Perreau got used to it. It separates the bio-waste from the rest, and once a week lowers it into a special bin, installed a few months ago on public roads by the metropolis. The bins are then collected. Other municipalities, such as Calais (Pas-de-Calais), have chosen to collect bio-waste directly at home.
