She was Warrant Officer Sara Casanova in 42 episodes of Research section. From season 7 to season 11, Manon Azem indeed played one of the emblematic characters of the series broadcast on TF1 before saying goodbye to him in 2017.
Since her departure, the 33-year-old actress has appeared in other projects and today opposite Arnaud Ducret in the new La Une series, Mercato. A project in which she thrives and which she needed. Especially since she found, over time, Research section“a little plan-plan” as she admitted to Siham Bengoua.

Manon Azem needed something new
Indeed, in an interview given to the journalist on March 31, 2024 for her YouTube show Confidences, Manon Azem
assured that she “didn’t spit on Research Section” who allowed him “to learn [son] job”. But she considers that she had reached the end and needed new goals.
“I had done three years and I was tired of playing the same role, saying the same things”she revealed frankly before continuing: “It was unbearable for me. At one point, you’re an actress, you want to do other things”.
What bothered you the most Manon Azem ? The side too “repetitive” of Research section : “I always had the same dialogues with just the time of death, the name of the dead person changing but otherwise it’s always the same. So, I left this series.”
A choice she does not regret
The production would have been very angry with the young artist, as she revealed to Siham Bengoua. Even the mother of Manon Azem judged that she was doing “a mistake” leaving the series TF1. “I remember I was going to be 25 and I was like, ‘I’m actually bored.’”she remembered.
And yet, his choice paid off: “I remember that two weeks before my last day of filming, I was cast on Gangsterdam. I said to myself: ‘We have to listen to each other!’ I left a TF1 series shot-shot for a first role in the cinema.” She still returned to the first channel since March 14, 2024, with an important role in the series Mercato.
