After the bombing of the Al-Ahli Arab hospital on Tuesday October 17, Joe Biden supports the Israeli version, while the Arab countries stick to the Hamas version. What elements will allow us to reconstruct the facts? Questions answers.

Corpses lined up next to each other in Gaza City by the dozen, Wednesday October 18. The Palestinian Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas in Gaza, counts 471 dead after the bombing of the Al-Ahli Arab hospital. The evening before, the Israeli authorities were already speaking of an exaggerated toll. The destruction on the hospital site does not seem that significant, but the toll could be explained by the presence of numerous refugees fleeing Israeli bombings in the surrounding area.

Questions, few answers

Israeli authorities claim that the strike on Tuesday the 17th came from a cemetery located behind the hospital. They regularly accuse Palestinian armed groups of using the surroundings of UN hospitals or schools to fire their rockets, and thus protect their positions. Places where civilians take refuge, believing they are safe. Hamas denies these accusations. The UN also assures that one of its schools was struck on Tuesday by the Israeli army.

While Joe Biden says he has elements of his intelligence services tending to exonerate Israel, Hamas accuses the United States of being complicit in the Israeli massacres.
