UN calls for end to ‘unlawful killings’ in West Bank

A Palestinian was killed and 14 others were injured at dawn on Thursday, December 28, during an incursion by the Israeli army into Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, according to the official Palestinian agency Wafa. In this context, the UN asked Israel to “put an end to unlawful killings” among the population of this territory, denouncing a rapid deterioration of human rights in this area. “The use of military tactics and weapons in law enforcement contexts, the use of unnecessary and disproportionate force, and the application of broad, arbitrary and discriminatory restrictions on movement affecting Palestinians, are extremely worrying”, added the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, in a statement.
