Umami continues to have babies. In addition to its vegan restaurant on rue Clark, in Mile-Ex, the brand has invested in a small premises on avenue du Mont-Royal Est.
Both a grocery store and a gyoza counter, the den also serves as a production site, since this is where the majority of the products are made: ramen and udon noodles, gyozas, sauces… Only the ramen broths, which require large vats, are prepared elsewhere, underline the two accomplices Hugo Lacasse and Cédric Charron.
You can find Umami products in many zero-waste grocery stores – including Romarin, Loco, Vrac et bocaux – or on online platforms like Lufa, and they will also soon be available in larger grocery stores. You can also, of course, get them on site, in addition to sitting at the counter in front of the window to taste gyozas and other small dishes prepared in front of you.
A small address to discover during the next trip to the neighborhood.
