Ukrainian villages under threat from the Russian army

It is now the only road that leads to Bakhmout (Ukraine), a city in the East on the front line and bombarded day and night. In recent hours, the fighting has intensified, the Russians would be very close. On the square, the few inhabitants live in fear. They no longer have a home and very little help. “We constantly hear the artillery fire, we don’t know where to go. It’s really terrifying”says a resident.

Yampil under Russian threat

Fifty kilometers away, in Yampil (Ukraine), another city that the Russian army covets, Viktoria remains despite the risks. She fears the arrival of the Russians. “As long as the Russians don’t shoot me, I’ll be fine. I hope that this winter, we will get out of it, but then how will things go? I can’t imagine the future, I have nothing left”, she laments. Yampil is protected by a few determined men forming a small unit of the Ukrainian army.
