Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expected in Paris on Friday to sign a bilateral security agreement

Volodymyr Zelensky is expected for a visit to Paris on Friday, the Ukrainian presidency informs, Thursday February 15. The Ukrainian President and French President Emmanuel Macron will sign a security agreement between their two countries at the Elysée, according to the French presidency. “This agreement follows the commitments that were made in G7 format on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius in July 2023”recalled the Elysée.

This is the third visit of the Ukrainian president to Paris since the start of the war, after those of February and May 2023. This “will be an opportunity for the two leaders to continue and deepen their dialogue of trust”according to the Elysée. “They will notably have the opportunity to discuss the situation on the front, Ukraine’s military, economic and humanitarian needs as well as Ukraine’s accession negotiations to the European Union.”which France supports.
