Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska in Paris on Wednesday

The Ukrainian First Lady will arrive at the UNESCO headquarters on Wednesday at the end of the day to inaugurate “a shelf of books in the Ukrainian language” at the library of the United Nations agency.

Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in France on Wednesday November 8, in Paris, franceinfo learned from UNESCO, confirming information from the newspaper The Parisian.

The Ukrainian First Lady will arrive at 5:30 p.m., notably to inaugurate “a shelf of books in the Ukrainian language” at the UNESCO library. A few minutes later, a meeting is planned with street artist C215 (Christian Guémy). The French artist went to Ukraine at the start of the war to make street art, in support of the Ukrainian people. C215 will also create a live fresco on an interior wall of UNESCO.

His last visit to France dates back to December 2022

Olena Zenlensky will then give a speech at UNESCO headquarters at the end of the day at 5:50 p.m. A speech which will be broadcast online on the website of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Since Wednesday, UNESCO has been holding its “general conference” with the 194 member states. In this context, Olena Zelenska will speak before representatives of States, including the Russian delegation which “will be present”, indicates Unesco. Since the start of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, the organization indicates that it has released 35 million euros in emergency measures. Particularly in the psychological support of students and teachers, a subject also supported by the Ukrainian First Lady.

This is the fourth time that Olena Zenlenska has come to France. His last visit was in December 2022.
