Russia launched, Tuesday, January 25, new military maneuvers on the southern border of Ukraine. A way to raise an already palpable tension.
Tension is growing between Russia and Ukraine. So much so that on Monday, January 24, Washington (United States) placed thousands of NATO troops on alert. A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, between advisers from Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine. The big maneuvers have already begun.
“The ball is in his court, I can’t tell you today what he will do, but we are preparing to take decisive action if he acts aggressively towards Ukraine,” says Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States. For its part, Russia is unfazed, and according to Moscow, it is the United States that is exacerbating tensions in the region. The standoff is therefore increasingly rough between the two countries.
