Ukraine says it shot down 15 of 35 Russian explosive drones launched overnight

According to the Air Force, Russia tried “to strike energy and fuel infrastructure, civilian and military sites.”

The Ukrainian Air Force announced on Tuesday January 30 that it had shot down 15 of the 35 explosive drones launched by Russia. According to kyiv, these devices particularly targeted civil and military infrastructure. Drones were neutralized over several regions in the south, center and north of the country.

Furthermore, “The enemy directed part of its attack drones on the frontline territories, trying to strike energy and fuel infrastructure, civilian and military sites”, clarified the air force on social networks. She did not mention any damage caused by the drones which were not shot down.

Around twenty drones shot down by Russia

The Ukrainian military added that two S-300 missiles were also fired against the Donetsk region in the east of the country. Ukraine is confronted almost every night with air attacks of varying magnitude, with sometimes dozens of missiles and drones falling on the country, and in particular its urban centers.

The Russian Defense Ministry, for its part, claimed to have “destroyed and intercepted” during the night a total of 21 Ukrainian drones. Eleven of these drones were shot down over Crimea, five in the Belgorod region, three from Bryansk, one from Kaluga and one from Tula, according to Moscow, which did not mention any damage at this stage.
