Kyiv | Airstrikes targeted civilian areas on Friday, killing one person in Dnipro, central Ukraine, a city spared so far by Russian forces, according to Ukrainian emergency services.
Early in the morning, “there were three airstrikes on the city, on a kindergarten, a residential building and a two-story shoe factory where a fire then broke out. One person has died,” Ukrainian relief said in a statement.
The town of Lutsk in northwestern Ukraine was also targeted by airstrikes.
The spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, announced that “the military airfields of Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk (city in western Ukraine, editor’s note), have been decommissioned”.
