The airport in the city of Dnipro, in eastern Ukraine, suffered “massive destruction” after two Russian bombings overnight from Monday to Tuesday, regional authorities said.
“During the night the enemy attacked Dnipro airport. Two strikes. The take-off and landing strip was destroyed. The terminal is damaged. Massive destruction,” writes Valentin Reznitchenko, governor of the eponymous region on Telegram.
Dnipro, an industrial city of one million inhabitants watered by the eponymous river which separates the East, partly pro-Russian from Ukraine, and the rest of its territory has been relatively spared by the progression of the Russian army.
On Saturday, Dnipro was targeted by bombardments which left at least one dead.
