(Kyiv) Ukraine struck energy sites with drones in the Russian region of Smolensk, some 400 kilometers from its borders, a source in the Ukrainian defense sector told AFP on Wednesday, stressing that these are “legitimate targets”.
Ukrainian drones struck “two oil depots” which “stored 26,000 cubic meters of fuel” during this operation organized by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), said this source. This claim comes against a backdrop of tensions with Washington, which has publicly criticized Kyiv’s strikes on energy sites located on Russian soil.
