In theaters, from May 5 to 8, it will be as much about science, ecology as the current state of the planet and society, with meetings putting Ukraine at the heart of the discussions. Among the hundred or so writers from Quebec, Canada and abroad who will take part in the event, the Ukrainian writer Oksana Lutshyshyna will be in Montreal, while the novelist Andreï Kurkov will take part in a round table by videoconference, in direct from western Ukraine.

The Festival will also have an online program, from April 28 to May 4, offering, among other things, a series of major interviews with American feminist Gloria Steinem, Algerian novelist and journalist Kamel Daoud, as well as Italian novelist Francesca Melandri.

More than 70 events will also be on the program for the children’s section to introduce young people to mathematics, ecology and astronomy. Authors such as André Marois, Sandra MacMillan Dumais, Andrew Katz, Mireille Levert and Sandra Dussault will notably meet them in libraries and schools.
