It’s the opening of one of the most open Roland-Garros in recent years on the men’s side, Sunday May 26. On the women’s side, on the other hand, the quartet Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina seems above the rest.
Humbert to start the day
Shock entry into this tournament with a new confrontation between Ugo Humbert and Lorenzo Sonego on the Suzanne-Lenglen court, the fifth between these two players on the ATP circuit. A remake of the second round of the previous edition which saw the Italian win in three sets.
Gasquet, Garcia and six other Blues
Richard Gasquet will face Borna Coric for what could be his last Roland-Garros. Caroline Garcia will take to the Philippe-Chatrier court against the German Eva Lys. Corentin Moutet, Harold Mayot, Alexandre Müller, Térence Atmane and Chloé Paquet will also tread Parisian ocher.
Beware of disappointments for the favorites
Four players from the top 10 will be on the courts: Carlos Alcaraz (n°3), Hubert Hurkacz (n°8), Andrey Rublev (n°6) and Grigor Dimitrov (n°10). The day will end with a gala poster in night session between Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka.
