Many victims were burned alive. Others were stabbed to death. Six high school students were kidnapped by the attackers. According to Ugandan authorities, an Islamist militia carried out the attack. Since near 20 years old, this group is based in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a few kilometers from the site of the attack. This group pledged allegiance to Daesh in 2019. Since then, he has sown terror in the region.
